There is a choice of three enclosures at Salisbury Racecourse - Bibury Enclosure, Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure, and Course Enclosure.
The range of facilities available and the areas that can be accessed vary according to each enclosure and that is reflected in the enclosure price.
Each enclosure will have guaranteed race viewing; betting facilities with both the tote and bookmakers; nearby car parking; racecard selling points; bars and catering outlets - everything you need for a great social occasion!
The Big TV Screen, which is a very popular feature at the racecourse, is viewable from all three enclosures.
Accompanied children aged under 16 get in FREE in any enclosure at all 15 race meetings and there are children's entertainments provided at Sunday race meetings, the July and August racedays e.g. bouncy castle, penalty shoot out, clowns and activity tent.
This was formerly known as 'Members'. It has the widest choice of facilities available and is closest to the winning line for race viewing. There are two viewing Stands in the Bibury Enclosure, one of which has a seated area with 288 seats.
Racegoers in this enclosure can view the horses in the Parade Ring before each race and the Winners' Enclosure afterwards. They can also freely visit both other enclosures at the racecourse, particularly the Course Enclosure on days that children's entertainments are provided.
The Bars in this enclosure are the main Bibury Bar which is on the first floor of the Bibury Suite. This bar also has a balcony over-looking the winning line. Other bars are the Wessex Bar and Persian Punch Bar located on the groundfloor of the Bibury Suite, and the Paddock Bar located by the Parade Ring. Each of these bars have an enclosed area for drinks to be taken outside. The Lester Piggott Bar is an open terraced bar at the top of the Wiltshire Stand (cream coloured building just after the winning line), and can be accessed up the metal staircase at the parade ring end of the building. This bar has fabulous views of the racecourse and parade ring.
New For 2010 – There is an excellent new coffee bar called ‘Coffee Mocha’ on the groundfloor of the Wiltshire Stand near the parade ring.
Food is available in most of the Bars, but if a sit down meal is required, in more comfortable surroundings, the Moonraker or adjacent Conservatory Restaurant should be considered. Advanced booking is recommended. For more details click here
Racegoers using the Bibury Enclosure need to be aware of the dress code which is 'Smart Casual' - collared shirts and trousers for gentlemen, but ties are not essential. Smart jeans are accepted but no ripped, torn ot frayed denim. No shorts, sportswear or trainers.
This was formerly known as 'Tattersalls'. Visitors to the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure can view the horses in the Parade Ring before each race, and in the Winners' Enclosure afterwards. They can also visit the Course Enclosure (particularly to make use of any children's entertainments) but can only visit the Bibury Enclosure if they pay the £7 upgrade and are suitably dressed.
The Bars that can be accessed in this enclosure are the main Tattersalls Bar, located underneath the twin level Stand which is next to the bookmakers. Other bars include the Paddock Bar which is located by the Parade Ring and which has an enclosed area for drinks to be taken outside and the Lester Piggott Bar at the top of the Wiltshire Stand. These two bars are shared with racegoers from the Bibury Enclosure. On busier racedays, a beer tent is erected near the betting ring.
Food is available in both Bars, and there are always mobile catering units near the betting ring.
NEW FOR 2010 - There is a newly constructed toilet block in this enclosure, located a short distance from the betting ring. Also, there is an excellent new coffee bar called ‘Coffee Mocha’ on the groundfloor of the Wiltshire Stand near the parade ring.
Customers in the Course Enclosure are able to get a good view of the racing and experience the atmosphere, however, they are not able to view the horses in the Parade Ring or Winners' Enclosure. They can only visit the Grandstand & Paddock and Bibury Enclosures if they pay the £5 or £12 upgrade, and are suitably dressed (for Bibury Enclosure).
The facilities available are more limited than the other two enclosures, however, the Sarum Bar which is located underneath the viewing Stand, allows purchase of beers, soft drinks and some more popular spirits.
Food is available from mobile catering units within the enclosure.
On days that children's entertainments are provided, these are generally found in this enclosure.
