Travel by road

From London take M3 to Southampton

At Junction 8 exit onto A303 Andover/Salisbury, go straight over Countess Roundabout (Amesbury)
At roundabout after Stonehenge take 1st Exit onto A360 towards Salisbury/Wilton/Woodford

After approx 5 miles, turn right (signed Wilton, HQ Land Forces and Park & Ride)

At Wilton roundabout/A30, take 1st exit onto Salisbury Road/A36 

Follow Brown Tourism signs to racecourse



From Southampton take the A36 northbound and follow the brown tourism signs as you approach Salisbury.

From the West come off the A303 at Deptford and take the A36 southbound towards Wilton and Salisbury, and then follow the brown tourism signs.

Parking

Parking is FREE at Salisbury Racecourse. There are several car parks so please follow the directions of the car parking stewards on racedays.

Coach Parking

Coach parking is located adjacent to the pull up area about 200m after the winning line. Coach parking is free, but coach drivers will be asked to fill in a simple Coach Security Pass on arrival. Picnics are permitted but barbecues or more formal catering is not, without prior consent of the racecourse management. For health and safety reasons no glassware may be used for drinks consumption, in the coach park.

Travel by Rail

Salisbury railway station is on several major routes and can be reached from the following:

  • London Waterloo – about 1 hr 30 mins
  • Basingstoke – about 40 mins
  • Southampton Central - about 35 mins
  • Portsmouth Harbour – about 1 hr 30 mins
  • Bristol Temple Meads – about 1 hr 10 mins
  • Yeovil Junction – about 50 mins

The railway station is about 4 miles away from the racecourse and a single taxi journey is about £10 and takes about 15 minutes.

Please note that the racecourse puts on a free bus service from the railway station and the bus station. (See below).

Travel by Bus

Salisbury Racecourse puts a free bus service from the railway station and bus station, up to the racecourse, in partnership with Wilts & Dorset Buses.

Buses will return from the racecourse to Salisbury train and bus station 15 minutes after the last race.

On 14 and 28 July and 31 August, there will be an additional bus departing the racecourse 10 minutes after the end of the concert.

Travel by Helicopter

Helicopter landing is permitted at Salisbury Racecourse with prior permission from the racecourse office only
