Racecourse wins award

Salisbury Racecourse won the ‘Best Flat Racecourse’ in the Neil Wyatt Groundsmen Awards for 2010. The awards recognize the achievements of groundstaff, who work hard to ensure the best possible ground conditions for racehorses. It is the second time Salisbury has won the award in two years, having also been successful in 2008.

In other news, the racecourse website has now been fully updated with all details for 2011. The new season starts at the course on Sunday 1st May. In the meantime, over the remaining winter months racecourses within striking distance of Salisbury that will be racing over the jumps, include Wincanton (www.wincantonracecourse.co.uk), Taunton (www.tauntonracecourse.co.uk) and Newbury (www.newbury-racecourse.co.uk).
