RACECOURSE IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE NEW WEBSITE

Posted February 10, 2003

Salisbury Racecourse, which is making £300,000 worth of improvements in time for the 2003 season, is also proud to announce the creation of their new website.

The new site which has been created by local web agency 'enotions' has been three months in the making and went live in mid-February.

Salisbury Racecourse's Clerk of the Course and Racecourse Manager, Jeremy Martin, said: 'I am delighted with how the new site looks and how the information is displayed. It is an interesting site and provides a great deal of appropriate information about race meetings and the facilities at Salisbury Racecourse. Enotions have done an excellent job, as indeed they said they would'.

The first race meeting of the 2003 season is on Sunday 4th May. This is traditionally the busiest and most family orientated race meeting each year at the Racecourse, as it takes place in the middle of a Bank Holiday.

Racegoers will notice several improvements including the main feature which is a new glass-fronted bar in the Members' Enclosure. There is also a new balcony attached to the Bibury Suite Bar; a new improved Public Address system to improve the clarity of race commentaries; new fencing around the enclosures; alterations to the Parade Ring and Winners' Enclosure; and improved surfaces outside various bars.

There have also been extensions to bar counters in two of the busiest bars at the racecourse. This will enable more serving stations and therefore quicker service.

Jeremy Martin added: 'The new improvements will be well received by our racegoers, I am sure, and with the increased prize money for this coming season (a press statement will be released in April), 2003 should be another excellent year for Salisbury Racecourse'.
