2006 SEASON FAST APPROACHING

Salisbury’s Flat Racing Season kicks off on Sunday 7th May with the first race of the season live on Channel 4 Racing. The television programme features four races from the home of Flat Racing, Newmarket, including the Stan James 1,000 Guineas, but also visits Salisbury for the £21,500 totesport.com Handicap. Last year, the same Channel 4 televised race, resulted in a dead-heat between subsequent Group race winners, Goodricke and Resplendent Glory.

The programme for the day:

11.00am Gates Open Children’s Entertainments including clowns, face painters, bouncy castle, penalty shoot out and crèche.
1.00pm Lurcher display on the course
2.25pm First race - £21,500 ‘totesport.com Handicap Stakes’
3.00pm Second race - £8,500 ‘totecourse to course Maiden Stakes’
3.35pm Third race - £11,000 ‘totequadpot Fillies Conditional Stakes’
4.10pm Fourth race - £11,000 ‘totesport 0800 221 221 Handicap Stakes’
4.45pm Fifth race - £8,500 ‘toteexacta Maiden Stakes’
5.20pm Sixth race - £18,000 ‘totepool A Better Way to Bet Handicap Stakes’

In the event of the second race having two divisions, the first division will be run at 1.55pm, and the Lurcher Display would be brought forward by 30 minutes. This information will only be known the day before, when horses are declared to run.

As normal, children aged 16 and under get in FREE, when accompanied by an adult.
