DETTORI wins both big races at Salisbury …..at the ‘Salisbury
Splendour’ race meeting. The powerful Godolphin stable owned
by Sheikh Mohammed continued its excellent form by taking
the big race each day on 16th & 17th August. Trainer Saeed
Bin Suroor sent Pictavia (10-11 favourite) to Salisbury on
Wednesday and the improving filly impressively took the £42,000
EBF Upavon Fillies Stakes under a confident ride from the
popular Italian jockey.
A day
later Dettori had to work harder on Belenus (11-10 favourite)
in Salisbury’s big race of the year - the £70,000 totesport.com
Sovereign Stakes (Group 3), but the 4 year old son of Dubai
Millenium did not let the punters down and he won by 1 ½ lengths
from the second favourite Notability.
