Event Summary:  The season gets off to a great start with our ever popular “Betfred City Bowl Family Day” which takes place in the May Bank Holiday weekend.  Plenty of children’s entertainments ensures that it is a fun day out suitable for all the family.  It is usually one of Salisbury’s best attended race meetings of the year, so a little extra journey time is recommended.

Feature race(s):  The Betfred “City Bowl” is one of the oldest races staged anywhere in the UK.  It is a £25,000 handicap staged over 1 mile & 6 furlongs.

Facilities for Children:  Accompanied children aged 17 or under get in FREE at all Salisbury race days! For this race meeting we are very pleased to provide facilities for children.  Premier Rides will be providing a V14 Simulator; the Astroglide Slide; the Cups & Saucers or Chair O'Planes fairground ride (for the younger ones); a Bouncy Castle and the Inflatable Galleon Assault Course. There will also be face painting by Mimicks, a regular Punch & Judy show, and the hugely entertaining and very cheeky Dewi the Dragon! THESE RIDES/FACILITIES ARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, SO THEY CAN BE USED AGAIN AND AGAIN!

These facilities are all located in the Sarum Enclosure (in the centre of the course), however, all racegoers with children i.e those in the Bibury Enclosure and Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure, are welcome to come across and use them.

'We came to Salisbury Races on 1st May last year for your family day and I just wanted to say what a great day we all had. The kids entertainment was brilliant, in particular Dewi the Dragon which my daughter watched about four times and wanted to go back for more! He was amazing, and managed to keep a wide age range of children sat down for his whole show, and even intrigued my one year old. Definitely book him again. Also the simulator was amazing.' Claire Fisher, Southampton.

Car Parking:  All car parking at Salisbury Racecourse is FREE and each car park is located just a short distance from the enclosures.
